BRINGING POPULAR, CLASSICAL, AND NEW MUSIC TO THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE.
Welcome to Preston Symphony Orchestra, where we bring the beauty and power of orchestral music to the heart of the community.
Join us for unforgettable performances that resonate with passion and creativity.
Working together on a regular practice schedule, our conductors and musicians are committed to offering you performances that are entertaining and enjoyable. We foster a love for orchestral music through our performances and interaction with schools and the wider community of Lancashire.
Preston Symphony Orchestra is the brainchild of our Chairman Matthew Price. There has not been an orchestra in Preston since the early 1960's. Matthew decided he needed to change that and that Preston City needed to have its own orchestra once again. In January 2024 the orchestra was born.
We are excited to inform you that following the success of our first sell-out concert on June 9th our second concert is on Sunday September 22nd at 7.00pm.
An Evening with Preston Symphony Orchestra is part of the Preston Arts Festival and will include highlights from their first concert, with new music, including pieces written by Bill Connor, Preston-born, Internationally acclaimed film composer.
We are keen to recruit violins, violas and basses to the orchestra at this time. If you are interested (and of a Grade 6 standard or higher, whether or not you have taken music exams) we would love to hear from you!
